Delegation from China's Tai'an City Explores Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, July 11, 2024 – A delegation from Tai'an City in China visited Cambodia to explore business and investment opportunities within the Kingdom. The delegation was received by OK Boung, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, at the ministry's office earlier this week.

The meeting focused on several key areas, including the current investment climate in Cambodia, the local labor force, logistics, and the transition from low value-added garment factories to high value-added production. Discussions also highlighted the importance of integrating green energy into the production chain, reflecting a commitment to sustainable development.

OK Boung welcomed the delegation warmly and expressed his appreciation for the exchange of ideas and the exploration of potential investment projects. He emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening economic ties between Cambodia and Tai'an City, noting that such collaborations could bring significant benefits to both regions.

The delegation from Tai'an City showed a keen interest in understanding the opportunities available in Cambodia's rapidly growing economy. They discussed the potential for investment in various sectors, including manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy.
